Web Design Starter
Build and style your own web pages with real HTML and CSS.
A friendly first step into web design. Students learn how websites work, structure pages with HTML, style them with CSS, lay them out with flexbox, and finish by building their own multi-section website about a hobby they love.

About this course
In Web Design Starter, students write real HTML and CSS from the very first lesson, inside a Web project in My Projects with a live preview that updates as they type. Lesson by lesson they learn how the browser turns code into a page, how to organise content with headings, lists, links, images and meaningful page sections, and how to style it with colours, fonts, classes and the box model. They then learn simple layout with flexbox, build cards, and make pages that look good on phones and laptops. Good habits are built in from the start: clear alt text for images, readable colour contrast, semantic tags and meaningful class names. The course finishes with a personal project — an "All about my hobby" website that the student plans, builds, reviews and polishes with their instructor.
